My salary is £30,360. I’m a Civil Servant, and the UK Space Agency belongs to a wider government department called the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

If I worked for a commercial company, I’d earn maybe around £5K more in the same job. But being in the Civil Service, I get fantastic perks in other ways like an excellent pension, extra days off work, very good job security, and a huge number of development opportunities.

I’m actually the most junior person in my team, and have only been in this job for 6 months.
